PRACTICE MODEL
INFORMATION
Healthier You is a Nurse Practitioner and Veteran owned private practice.
We are grounded in authentic "patient-centered care".
In New Mexico, Nurse Practitioners hold full-autonomy to apply their advanced, clinical training to assess, diagnosis and treat psychiatric and addiction disorders.
Nurse Practitioners hold legal prescriptive authority to prescribe medication(s), including controlled substances.
At Healthier You, LLC our model of care utilizes Evidence-Based practice, and components of Integrative, Functional and Nutritional Psychiatry.
We value your Autonomy in decision-making and believe that you should fully participate in your care.

GUIDING PRINCIPLES
A foundational principle of Healthier You, LLC is that people possess an incredible ability to grow throughout all stages of the lifespan.
Positive growth occurs in an authentic, respectful, safe and non-judgmental environment.
We consider the role that family, Social-Cultural, and environmental influences have on health outcomes.
Successful outcomes result from a commitment to engage in treatment
Our model holds patients to a high standard of "showing up" for themselves by attending appointments and engaging in treatment decisions.

TREATMENT FOCUS
Identifying the underlying "root cause" and resolving, or minimizing treatable symptoms from the psychological, and/or physical disease.
Our goal is to focus on patient identified goals to improve Psychological, Emotional, Physical and Spiritual (if initiated by patient) health outcomes.

OUR PRACTICE MODEL ISN'T FOR EVERYONE
We hold ourselves and patients to high expectations for change.
We encourage patients to work through personal challenges.
We offer guidance, support and clinical recommendations to assist patients in achieving their goals.
We do not offer a quick fix to long-standing issues, and believe to do so would be disingenuous and unfair.
We do not offer unrealistic or trendy solutions to complex issues.
We empower patients to actively participate in treatment decisions.
Appointment attendance is crucial for reaching successful treatment goals.
More than 2 "no call, no show" missed appointments, or frequently cancelling may result in discharge. Extenuating circumstances are considered on a case by case basis. Please let us know in advance if you have an unpredictable work schedule, are a caregiver, etc.
We are your Partner in Health, and believe in the power of change and that you can become a Healthier You!
